Back in April, Mr. Trump hired former mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani to be part of his legal team. According to The Washington Post:
‘The entry of Giuliani, an experienced attorney with a combative reputation, immediately raises questions about how Trump will engage with Mueller and the leadership at Justice. Some Trump advisers are concerned that the president could use his executive authority to close or diminish the special counsel probe, which has spawned a parallel investigation in New York targeting his personal attorney.’
Trump’s hope was that Giuliani could get him out of his huge legal mess with adult film star Stormy Daniels, but he is instead making the whole situation worse. About a month ago, Giuliani spilled the beans that Trump knew about the $130,000 hush payment to Stormy Daniels during an interview on Sean Hannity’s show.
On Friday, Trump was asked about Giuliani’s Israel trip as reporters caught up with him before he headed off to the G-7 Summit. The president said:
‘Look, Rudy’s great, but Rudy is Rudy.’
He went on to say:
‘But Rudy is doing a very good job, actually. He’s doing a very good [job].’
Just on Thursday, Giuliani stirred up a storm when he blatantly voiced his disrespect for Daniels and other women working in the adult film industry. He seemed to forget that First Lady Melania Trump posed nude herself. He said:
‘I respect women—beautiful women and women with value —but a woman who sells her body for sexual exploitation I don’t respect. Tell me what damage she suffered. Someone who sells his or her body for money has no good name.
‘If you’re going to sell your body for money, you just don’t have a reputation. I may be old fashioned, I dunno.’
Trump was asked about this on Friday, and he responded with:
‘I’m not going to disagree with him on that.’
Stormy Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti was also fired up over Giuliani’s comments. He tweeted:
Mr. Trumps deserves Rudy Giuliani and is getting a taste of his own medicine with such an unhinged attorney. Noticeably, Trump doesn’t have anything too admirable to say about Giuliani and there are plenty of reasons for that.
