If it isn’t members of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign under the legal gun, so to speak, it’s his personal attorney, Michael Cohen. On the same day that former campaign manager Paul Manafort learned that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is planning to issue 75 new indictments in the investigation into his crimes, Cohen announced that he was firing his attorneys and told friends that he expects to be arrested at any time.

MSNBC’s Katy Tur reported on Wednesday that:

‘I spoke to a source close to Michael Cohen a couple of minutes ago and they are saying that Michael Cohen expects to be arrested pretty soon, and he expects to be arrested because his lawyers, he says to the friend, got a call from lawyers at the SDNY saying that they were preparing paperwork.’

Cohen’s home, office, and hotel room were raided by the FBI and documents, computers, and recordings related to his work with his five clients – clients that include President Trump and Fox News host Sean Hannity – were seized. Since his legal troubles first began, speculation abounded that Cohen may flip on Trump to avoid prison, although MSNBC says they cannot definitively confirm that at this time.

However, they did confirm with several sources that Cohen cooperating with investigators against Trump is under consideration by the man most commonly referred to as the president’s “fixer.”

‘There is some speculation out there from a number of reports that Michael Cohen could be cooperating with SDNY. We do not have that; all sources that we’ve spoken with right now indicate that that currently is not happening, but I’ve been speaking with a number of people who know Cohen well, those close to Michael Cohen, and they believe, and they’re speculating here, that [firing his attorneys] is a smoke sign to President Trump warning “I might be considering cooperating with the SDNY.”‘
