Many people feel sorry for First Lady Melania Trump. First off, she is Donald Trump’s wife – actually, that is enough. Yet, her voice for children has come through loud and clear.
CNN reporter for the White House on the FLOTUS beat, Kate Bennett, tweeted about the first lady’s communications director, Stephanie Grisham’s statement:
‘NEW: Statement from
@FLOTUS spokeswoman@StephGrisham45 to me regarding what’s happening to kids at our borders:‘Mrs. Trump hates to see children separated from their families and hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together to achieve successful immigration reform. She believes we need to be a country that follows all laws, but also a country that governs with heart.’
We can see that Donald Trump has to be in total control. The president has a history of flying into rages frequently, and he said that when he was hit, even by a woman, he hit back 10 times harder.
POTUS has little respect for women as his infamous bus tape revealed prior to the 2016 presidential election, when he said he forced himself upon them. Instead, he has had man crushes on cruel dictators like Russia’s Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un.
All of this adds up to a man who could have easily abused all three of his wives. Who knows what FLOTUS will suffer for her public condemnation of Trump’s policy of tearing children as young as four months old from mothers legally seeking asylum?
Democrats, immigration advocates, and even some reluctant Republicans have argued against this cruel and traumatic treatment of children.
Child experts and The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) warned against Trump’s policy, saying that it would cause “irreplaceable harm” to those children, Buzzfeed reported.
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway to NBC’s Chuck Todd on Meet The Press:
‘As a mother, as a Catholic, as somebody who’s got a conscience … I will tell you that nobody likes this policy. Congress passed the law that it is a crime to enter this country illegally. So if they don’t like that law, they should change it.’
Senate Democrats have introduced legislation that bans separating family members at the border.
People across the country have been alarmed as this inhumane treatment of people seeking a safe harbor. Trump’s treatment was reminiscent of Hitler’s feelings toward people he deemed “less than.”
