Donald Trump cancelled the Congressional picnic that was scheduled for Thursday because everyone was “so busy” and were working on “important stuff,” but he still found time to go to a rally and brag about locking up small brown children.
He hasn’t learned yet that bragging about his crowd size at every rally always gets him caught in a lie. He also hasn’t learned that bragging about the economy, which was already on an upswing thanks to President Obama, doesn’t excuse his cruelty and terrible promotion of his rabid fanbase’s worst tendencies toward racism.
He also doesn’t seem to understand that judges are appointed, not “hired.” While he and his supporters insist that they’re fine with immigrants coming in legally, they cheer him when he says he wants to make the process more difficult and that he doesn’t want to help people seeking asylum prove that they need help to flee their home countries.
In yet more news about things Trump doesn’t understand, there’s a reason that policies must be voted on by 60 lawmakers and not a simple majority. It requires Congress to pass bipartisan bills that can be agreed on by both parties without allowing one party to control everything. Trump, of course, would really like to control everything and becomes angry when his policies repeatedly fail. Calling Democrats “obstructionists” is actually laughable considering the night Obama was elected, Republican House Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced that his number one priority was making President Obama a one-term president.
Twitter wasn’t buying Trump’s rally bragging. No one has forgotten or will let Trump forget his cruel policies of locking children in cages. See some of the responses below:
