Judge Ruins Manafort’s Friday – Drops Money Laundering Ruling That Has Paul In A Panic

You can just look at Paul Manafort and see the corruption oozing off of him. It’s no wonder Donald Trump liked him so well–birds of a feather really do hang together.

Yesterday Manafort got the bad news that the judge in his case refused to throw out the evidence in his trial, and today he found out that U.S. District Court Judge Amy Jackson also won’t be dropping the money laundering charges against him either.

One of the charges against Manafort is that he failed to register as a foreign agent working at the behest of Ukraine. His failure to register violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). Money laundering is another charge against him. That charge is linked to his work for former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. Maybe Manafort thinks that since he was actually working for another government of another country that he shouldn’t have to follow the laws of this country.

His attorney seems to think that the money laundering allegations are moot because the FARA violations pertain to a failure to register as a foreign agent, not his work for another government. Wait what??? He wants the money laundering charges dropped because he broke another law first. That just doesn’t make any sense, and apparently, Judge Jackson agrees. So, his charges are going to stand.

This guy is a piece of work. Hasn’t he ever heard the saying, “If you do the crime, you’ll do the time”? Anyone who follows politics knows that Manafort is as crooked as a dog’s hind leg, and has been for years. He should quit trying to weasel out of the charges against him and just accept the time he’s going to have to serve for his alleged crimes. If he was an honorable man he’d take whatever plea deal he has been offered and start working on rebuilding his life.
