Fox News Suspends Commentator For Racist Remark Toward Black Guest (VIDEO)

In a moment worthy of the current presidential administration, Trump supporter and former campaign deputy manager David Bossie displayed the same type of dog-whistle racism that is becoming so common among that group. Remarks he made on Sunday while appearing on a panel with Democratic strategist Joel Payne, a black man, got him suspended from his position as a contributor on Fox News.

Bossie sparred with Payne over racist ideologies seen in the White House and its policies. The Trump supporter bristled, but Payne refused to back down.

‘You don’t have to be a golden retriever to hear all the dog whistles coming out of the White House these days and from my friend David here.’

As their debate continued to heat up, Bossie gave the perfect example of what dog-whistle racism looks like when he shot back at Payne by responding:

‘You’re out of your cotton-picking mind.’

The remark did not go over well. After Payne let Bossie know that he had ancestors who picked cotton and that he would not continue to tolerate his obvious bigotry, the segment ended as host Ed Henry made a statement denouncing Bossie and his words.

‘I want to make clear that Fox News and this show, myself, we don’t agree with that particular phrase. It was obviously offensive.’

Apparently, the powers-that-be were not quite equally offended. It doesn’t appear that Bossie will permanently lose his job, but take a two-week suspension as a scolding.
