Donald Trump has an advanced degree in the art of lying. He reached into his rock-hard heart and tore nursing infants from mothers seeking asylum from certain death. Yet, one thing POTUS has done is keep his campaign promises, and this promise is downright scary.
Trump appeared in a Fox News tweet with especially bad news:
‘
@POTUS on nominating a new Supreme Court justice: “I’m going to pick somebody’s who’s outstanding. And I think yes, I think we will go very quickly.”#SundayFutures@MariaBartiromo.’
The commander-in-chief wants to blow up Roe v. Wade. That means 12-year-old girls whose fathers raped them and women who will definitely die in child-birth will be forbidden to have an abortion.
On the campaign trail, Trump promised to crack open the four-decades-long law. He also said he would move abortion from the supreme law of the land and hand it back to the states. That was an ominous promise.
State legislatures across the country have already imposed severe limits on abortion. State Senator Jim Carlin (R-IA) told CNN, the opportunity to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy was:
‘Exactly what we had hoped for. With (Kennedy) as the swing vote, I don’t know that we would have had the capital on the Supreme Court to reverse Roe v. Wade. If we were to get another conservative justice to the bench at the Supreme Court, I think our chances are much, much higher.’
CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin said:
‘I think it’s virtually certain that some or all of those laws will wind up before the Supreme Court. And they will get a much more favorable reception with any of the judges on President Trump’s list of 25 possible nominees.’
