Anytime information from the Russia investigation or other truths about Trump’s shady past is revealed to the public, Trump begins to panic. The FISA warrant that was use to surveil Dr. Carter Page, who was announced as part of the Trump campaign team by Trump himself, was released after being demanded by Judicial Watch, a rightwing organization that is constantly trying to uncover conspiracy theories against Republicans. This one blew up right in their faces.
Trump and the GOP are trying the same tactic they used once before, saying that the courts who granted the FISA warrant against Page were not given the full information about who paid for the dossier that was used as a primary source for the investigation. That wasn’t true then and it isn’t true now. The FBI obtained a warrant and began surveilling him in 2014, well before Trump ever announced his bid for the presidency.
If Carter Page were a brown man who went back and forth to a country like Iran to speak against the U.S. government, Trump wouldn’t just want him surveilled. He’d want him hung for treason. All of this bluster about the FISA warrant is just that: bluster.
Trump also continued his rant about the “fake news” response to his press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but he always leaves so much out of the story. For instance, news organizations in other countries were stunned by Trump’s traitorous statements about believing Putin over his own government, even Russian state TV. It isn’t just the media, nor is it just the Democrats. The entire world is endlessly shocked by Trump.
Twitter wasn’t having any of it, either. Read some of their comments below:
