Few Americans are impressed by Donald Trump’s “tough guy” tweets, especially when those tweets reveal just how immature and lacking in diplomacy the current president of the United States is. While other musicians, actors, and celebrities have expressed their disappointment and alarm with Trump’s idiocy, perhaps one of the best trolls came on Twitter from a 90s band from California.
The 90s nu-metal song about a man contemplating suicide works quite well with Trump’s latest ridiculous threatening tweet. Trump’s own frustration and attempts to deflect from all the negative attention that his performance in Helsinki with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the released tapes from Michael Cohen’s currently legal trial proving Trump a liar when he said he was unaware of payments to porn stars during the campaign have deeply damaged him and his image.
Trump has complained during rallies in front of his supporters that the American people are upset when he is “too tough” on other world leaders and then upset when he’s “too nice.” He doesn’t seem to get that people are alarmed when he makes childish threats to provoke the leaders of other countries but then will kowtow to any dictator at the expense of the well-being of America.
This threat, however, seems more desperate than anything else. Trump badly needs to improve his image and will do so at great cost to everyone else, even American citizens who will deal with the consequences of his lack of diplomacy and deliberate incompetence.
