It’s almost impossible to imagine how the United States will ever survive the Trump presidency considering the absolutely cluelessness of the man in charge at the White House. Tuesday morning’s Twitter rant did nothing to assuage those fears.
Dissembling these statements is both easy and overwhelming, but the easiest way to address the first tweet, the one about Rush Limbaugh, is to allow the longtime conservative radio provocateur to describe his own points of view.
‘Barack Obama said that he wasn’t allowed to play on his private high school basketball team in Hawaii because he played black-style basketball. What is black-style basketball? You empty the clip on your opponents? What is it? I’m just funning with you here, but really, what is black-style basketball? You watch: Limbaugh: Empty The Clip, headline tomorrow.’
Enough said.
Trump has been reminded too many times to count that while violence in some Central and South American countries has increased, making the immigration rate for those seeking safety increase, the crime rate for the U.S. has declined significantly. It’s almost as if immigration does not increase crime rates at all.
Finally, there is no debate about selling 3-D plastic guns, and the NRA certainly has no involvement with the current issue of 3-D guns at hand. The debate is whether or not a man who successfully figured out how to make undetectable 3-D guns, including AR-15s, can publish the instructions for how to do so online.
Of course it “doesn’t seem to make much sense” to Trump. He doesn’t even seem to understand what the argument is about.
