JUST IN: Federal Judge Makes Friday DACA Ruling That Has Trump In Hot Water

Donald Trump just can’t catch a break in his cruel quest to hurt Latinos. Last month he faced widespread fury and legal rulings against his policy that separated families at the border. Now today CNN reported that a federal judge upheld his order that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) must be fully restored, and Trump is almost certain to blow a gasket.

DC District Judge John Bates said that the Trump administration still hasn’t justified its reason to end DACA, which President Obama put in place to protect nearly 800,000 young undocumented children from deportation. The judge gave Trump 20 days to respond or appeal if they want to. But really why would they? They’ve just had a federal judge rule against them twice in a matter of months. Sadly Trump’s minions will fight the ruling as long as possible. Cruelty is their main game after all.

Bates’ ruling comes less than a week before a judge in Texas is expected to rule on the program, too. Texas and a few other states sued to end the program altogether, and they found a judge that agreed with them. He ruled in their favor, then the appeals process started. The Texas case comes back up next week and it’s almost certain that the judge will rule to end DACA entirely. So, by the end of this month we’ll most likely have two completely different rulings on the same subject.

Only time will tell what’s going to happen. Bates ruled that not only did the Trump administration have to renew applications for protection, but they also had to start accepting applications from new applicants. Hopefully, Bates’ ruling wins out, because this country has done enough harm to people simply trying to provide better lives for their families. No one can blame them for that…well no one except the GOP and Donald Trump.
