Omarosa Manigault-Newman has proven to be an opponent worthy of Donald Trump. She has been framing herself as a “whistleblower,” which shows how media and politically savvy she is. Now, she has revealed how the president offered her “hush money.”
The reality show actor and author of Trump presidency tell-all Unhinged, appeared to know her boss well. On the campaign trail, well before she took a job as a senior advisor in the White House, she began taping the Donald and Trump’s family and friends.
Manigault-Newman followed in the Trump footsteps, releasing her tapes a bit at a time for highest anticipation and drama. Her latest tape involved Lara Trump, the wife of the president’s second son, Eric. The author appeared with MSNBC’s Craig Melvin recently.
Lara Trump is an American television host, television producer, and campaign advisor. In the recording, she said:
‘It sounds a little like there’s something you’ve got in the back pocket to pull out. Everybody’s positive, right? I think we can work something out where we keep you along those lines.’
Manigault-Newman interpreted Lara’s words to represent those of the man sitting in the Oval Office. Lara offered her $15,000 per month or $180,000 a year, which was what she made working full-time for Trump. It sounded like a trade of money for her silence, hush money:
‘I saw this as an attempt to buy my silence, to censor me, to pay me off.’
The author noticed that the Trumps keep telling different stories about firing her. She said:
‘This family can’t keep their story straight.’
She was rightly offended when Lara Trump called her “so articulate:”
”I think it’s important as people question the credibility of everything you see in Unhinged…I think it’s important not only to point to these things but to also blow the whistle on the corruption in this family, in this administration, in this campaign.’
Manigault-Newman has been especially effective at getting under POTUS’ skin. Apparently, Trump became so “furious” at her that he asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions to arrest her.
So far, the earlier tapes that the reality star released were:
- A conference call with Trump campaign spokesperson Katrina Pierson talking about whether the Donald Trump N-word tape existed,
- John Kelly firing her in the >>>> room, and
- A sorry-I-fired-you call from the president.
