Trump’s Lavish Military Parade Dream Goes Out The Window After Americans Revolt

For a guy who managed to get five deferments, Donald Trump sure has a thing for the military. He staffed his administration with “my generals.” Yet, his latest whim will cost the taxpayers $92 million in totally unnecessary dollars.

After POTUS went to France and French President Emmanuel Macron put on a parade for him, the idea of having the biggest ever parade has haunted him. Then, there was Kim Jong Un’s soldiers goose-stepping among his tanks.

What were the generals to do when the commander-in-chief commanded them to put on a parade? Trump commented on the French parade, according to NBC News:

‘It was a tremendous day, and to a large extent because of what I witnessed, we may do something like that on July 4 in Washington down Pennsylvania Avenue. We’re going to have to try to top it, but we have a lot of planes going over and a lot of military might, and it was really a beautiful thing to see, and representatives from different wars and different uniforms.’

The parade was originally scheduled for November 10, which was about the time of our leader’s invitation to Russia’s President Vladimir Putin. Yet, Putin put off Trump until after the first of the year. No surprise that the man sitting in the Oval Office decided to reschedule his parade until 2019, too.

Senator Tammy Duckworth lost both of her legs when real enemies of the people shot down the helicopter she was piloting. She referred to Trump as “a five-deferment draft dodger.”

The president received four college deferments and one due to bone spurs in his heels. Duckworth gave the man who loves to give people nicknames a nickname of his own, “Cadet Bone Spurs.”

The $92 million will buy the man sitting in the Oval Office, according to NBC:

‘Security, transportation of parade assets, aircraft, as well as temporary duty, or TDY, for troops. The official also noted that while the size and scope of the military parade can still shift, the plans currently include approximately eight tanks, as well as other armored vehicles, including Bradleys, Strykers and M113s.’
