Get ready to pick your jaw up off the floor. Just when you thought you couldn’t be more shocked over a Trump tweet than you already have been, Trump has proven you wrong this Friday with possibly the most stunning series of tweets yet.
Trump was warned repeatedly by more intelligent and experienced people not to go through with his Singapore meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. He scoffed, bragged about the Nobel Peace Prize he was sure to receive, and went anyway.
There is no surprise in the fact that denuclearization in North Korea has not happened, or that the agreement Trump and Kim signed that required no future verification turned out to be nonsense, or that Trump was duped into giving Kim the legitimacy he has so craved in order to stroke his own ego and look successful in front of supporters.
What absolutely is surprising about his tweets, however, is two things: the fact that Trump finally admitted that he failed and that he sent “warmest regards” to a brutal dictator who lied to Trump’s face and made him look incredibly foolish in the public eye.
Just one month prior, Trump tweeted a completely different story about his meeting in Singapore despite numerous reports that North Korea continued to build more nuclear weapons following the agreement.
‘Many good conversations with North Korea-it is going well! In the meantime, no Rocket Launches or Nuclear Testing in 8 months. All of Asia is thrilled. Only the Opposition Party, which includes the Fake News, is complaining. If not for me, we would now be at War with North Korea!’
Twitter was critical of Trump’s “warmest regards” to Kim Jong Un and noted that Trump has sent none to Senator John McCain, who announced today that his struggle to treat brain cancer has reached an end. See some of their comments below:
