It’s bad enough that Mr. Trump spends his early morning hours launching into crazed Twitter tirades, but now those closest to him are beginning to do the same. Now that Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen and campaign manager Paul Manafort have each been found guilty of eight felony charges, they are going to fall like dominoes.
So, it’s not a surprise that Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani went on Twitter Saturday morning maintaining that “President Trump did nothing wrong.” He tweeted:
‘Just a few days before 60 day run-up to 2018 elections. If Mueller wants to show he’s not partisan, then issue a report on collusion and obstruction. They will show President Trump did nothing wrong. Then we will have to admit you were fair. And we will.’
Giuliani has been begging Mueller’s office to issue a report on election interference before the 2018 midterms and wrap up the investigation. Earlier this year, Trump accused Mueller of “meddling” with the midterm elections. He tweeted:
‘The 13 Angry Democrats (plus people who worked 8 years for Obama) working on the rigged Russia Witch Hunt, will be MEDDLING with the mid-term elections, especially now that Republicans (stay tough!) are taking the lead in Polls.
‘There was no Collusion, except by the Democrats!’
Twitter had plenty to say to Giuliani:
Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen admitted during his trial that Trump directed him to commit felony acts and one of the most significant charges he plead guilty to was campaign finance fraud, which included making contributions for the purpose of directly influencing the 2016 election and then seeking reimbursement from the Trump organization. This directly implicates the president in criminal acts.
At this point, anything Giuliani has to say is a load of hogwash.
