As the country still mourns the death of one of its most beloved senators and war heroes and reels from the news of yet another mass shooting that left four people dead in Jacksonville, Florida, President Trump took time out of his busy schedule to tweet false statements about his approval ratings.
In Trump’s 20 months in office that has felt like 20 years, so many scandals and violations of law and protocol have erupted that some of them are hard to even define since they’ve never happened before. He has separated children from their mothers as they crossed the southern border seeking asylum and thrown infants into detention centers, violated campaign finance law to pay off an adult film star and Playboy playmate with whom he had extramarital affairs, several of his cabinet members have resigned in disgrace for illegally using taxpayer dollars to purchase items like a soundproof booth and fancy lotions, fired an FBI director to obstruct justice and interfere with a criminal probe against him, and sided with a hostile foreign government leader currently leading cyberwarfare against the U.S. over our own intelligence community.
America is pretty sure they know who the “real villains” are.
Trump’s approval rating is nowhere near 52 percent overall. According to a poll released on Sunday by the Wall Street Journal and NBC News, he currently sits at 44 percent and has never, in any month in office, been above 50 percent.
This is no one’s “favorite president.”
Twitter was quick to remind him of this fact. See some of their responses below:
