CNBC Announces Robert Mueller Power Move On Trump’s ‘Fixer’; W.H Goes Silent

Almost all Trump supporters believe that since Paul Manafort was charged with financial crimes not related to Trump, Trump was immediately exonerated from any wrongdoing.

However, they should not take that as proof of Trump’s innocence as Special Counsel Robert Mueller is leaving no rock unturned.

CNBC reported Tuesday Mueller repeatedly questioned witnesses as to what role Michael Cohen, Trump’s personal lawyer and “fixer,” played in the 2016 Trump campaign. He continued the questions everĀ after the FBI raided Cohen’s office and home.

‘The FBI raided Cohen’s Manhattan office and hotel room on April 9, as part of an investigation Mueller referred to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. But sources indicated that Mueller’s interest in Cohen persisted, as the special counsel continues to investigate Russian attacks on the 2016 election and potential coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin.’

They added:

‘The special counsel’s investigators also asked these witnesses about whether Cohen conducted personal business while working as an employee of the Trump Organization and for insight on why he didn’t get a job in the Trump White House.’

The Trump administration and Cohen have claimed he had no role in the Trump campaign; however, he was seen often with Trump and appeared on talk shows to represent Trump.

Mueller’s questioning lasted at least until May. With Cohen’s recent guilty plea for financial crimes and campaign financial crimes, this indicates Mueller’s interest was extensive and went beyond his recommendation to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Basically, this means Cohen’s charges may not include collusion, but Mueller could still be investigating it especially since Cohen did admit he paid off Stephanie Clifford (Stormy Daniels) to keep their affair secret at the direction of Trump. Furthermore, Cohen’s own lawyer said Cohen would be willing to provide investigators information indicating the president did know about the meeting between a Russian lawyer and his son Donald Trump Jr. in hopes of attaining damaging information on Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. His lawyer, Lanny Davis, did, however, walk back his statements regarding this.

Experts also voiced the same sentiment that Mueller’s questioning could be indicative of Cohen having plenty to provide the special counsel for the Russia investigation. CNBC reported:

‘Legal experts say Mueller’s continued interest in Cohen suggests that he could still be a pivotal source of information to the larger probe into whether Russian operatives colluded with Trump campaign officials to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.’

A former Trump Organization executive vice president, Barbara Res, commented on what she felt Mueller may be looking for.

‘We know he’s given testimony for a plea deal, and we don’t know what Michael is going to do in connection with that. In my mind, Mueller wants to see any connection Donald may have had with Russian banks.’

A Ukrainian politician also commented that he believes Mueller felt Cohen still had something to offer his investigation. Andrii Artemenko commented:

‘My personal opinion is that Michael Cohen is the target of this investigation. I can’t share with you the details of the questions, but from my understanding, they’re keeping going with this investigation.’

Mueller’s office and Cohen’s own lawyer have not issued any comment. Additionally, the 1Trump Organization has issued no statement either.
