Friday, one of the most dangerous storms in decades, Hurricane Florence, unleashed on the Carolina’s resulting in the deaths of at least 5 people so far. Because of the severity of the storm, and the amount of rain hammering the coast, there will no doubt be more casualties — it’s just a matter of time.
So far, Trump has not taken the time to send his usual “thoughts and prayers” to the families of the victims of Hurricane Florence, but he certainly made a point to acknowledge another death today. One that is completely unrelated to the hurricane, and one that is perhaps better suited to his agenda to build that wall he keeps harping about.
My thoughts and prayers are with
Evelyn Rodriguez this evening, along with her family and friends. #RIPEvelyn https://t.co/wMwxRdjBHM— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 15, 2018
Evelyn Rodriguez is the mother of a young girl who was killed by members of the gang MS-13. This afternoon, while on her way to visit her daughter’s memorial, Ms. Rodriguez was struck by a car and killed. While both of these events are horrific, the fact that our so-called “president” made a point to tweet about it, instead of the other tragic events of the day, just goes to show where his priorities lie. He cares more about building a wall to keep out brown people than he does about the people who are being affected by a massive storm on the coast of the country he governs and claims to want to make “great again.”
This did not go unnoticed by the Twitterverse, either. They let him have it!! Just read some of these responses:
This asshole claims three thousand Puerto Ricans didn’t die, but jumps up and down when one person dies in way that fits his agenda.
Sean Hannity’s worst nightmare just came true… https://t.co/2tuNfKx8wK

Where’s your thoughts and prayers for the hurricane victim today? Instead you throw out utterly repulsive statements about the Puerto Rico victims. You are truly despicable.

Thoughts and prayers for a victim of MS-13, but no mention of the 5 dead thus far in Carolinas?
Nice to know where your priorities are.

Translation:
“I like it when people are killed by illegal immigrants, MS-13, or Muslim terrorists because then I can exploit those deaths for my selfish political advantage. But, if you die in any other way, I won’t mention it, or I’ll deny you died!” https://t.co/LXIbS8agOW
