Trump Rages Like A Psycho After Republicans Refuse To Back Puerto Rico Death Toll Lie

Donald Trump just loves conspiracy theories…especially the ones he creates. In order to save face for the horrible job he did handling the fallout of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, Trump started a great big lie saying that only between 6 and 18 people died in the island nation, instead of the nearly 3,000 who actually perished. Now Trump is pissed at Republican Florida gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis because DeSantis won’t back up Trump’s lie.

The DeSantis campaign issued a statement saying:

‘Ron DeSantis is committed to standing with the Puerto Rican community, especially after such a tragic loss of life. He doesn’t believe any loss of life has been inflated.’

Their statement was in response to Trump’s idiotic tweet about the death toll in last year’s hurricane. A hurricane, by the way, that caused so much damage to the infrastructure of Puerto Rico that it took eleven long months just to get all the electricity turned back on.

The reason Trump is so pissed at the Florida Republican is because Trump went down to the Sunshine State and stumped for DeSantis, and his support was the only reason he won his primary. After doing something like that Trump expects full-bore loyalty from DeSantis, but he’s not seeing it. Politico reported that Trump:

‘has told close associates in recent days that he views DeSantis — who won his Aug. 28 GOP primary thanks to Trump’s strong support — as profoundly disloyal for distancing himself from the president’s assertion that the Hurricane Maria death toll was inflated by Democrats for political purposes.’

The fact of the whole matter is that Trump has been a total failure as a president and even some Republicans refuse to go along with his lies. There’s a huge population of Puerto Ricans living in Florida now, and DeSantis certainly doesn’t want to scare them away from voting for him.
