Karen Pence stands quietly around the edges of Vice President Mike Pence’s life, but there has been something extremely disturbing about her relationship with her husband and related politics. The vice president calls her “mother,” and that brings Oedipal issues immediately to mind. Now, we find more details about Mrs. Pence.
In a revealing book by Michael Lewis, The Fifth Risk, he wrote Mike Pence was thrilled when Donald Trump won Pennsylvania in the 2016 presidential election. He turned to kiss his wife when she turned her face away and said:
‘You got what you wanted, Mike. Now leave me alone.’
Professor Daniel Drezner noted the Karen Pence information was interesting. He tweeted:
‘This is quite the Michael Lewis paragraph.’
When Trump moved into the small group, Karen Pence refused to even say hello to the man. The soon-to-be president felt the snub and went to watch TV.
It seems that Mrs. Pence and the man sitting in the Oval Office have had a very difficult relationship. Trump’s infamous Access Hollywood tape where he talked about groping women against their will turned her completely off.
The vice president has continued to stare adoringly at the president in every video and photo. The best that Karen Pence has been able to do is to remain silent about Trump in public.
Lewis has authored The Big Short and Moneyball. His book that included information about the Pences has been scheduled for an October 2 release. The Fifth Risk is primarily about how the Trump’s Energy, Commerce, and Agriculture departments have suffered in this administration. However, he included intriguing details about the presidential election, The New York Times reported.
