BREAKING: American Bar Association Re-Opens Kavanaugh Evaluation

During Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings, including the portions in which he testified his denials regarding Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations of sexual assault, he bragged about his “very qualified” rating with the American Bar Association and the support he had with the Jesuit Church. Both ended up pulling their support after his testimony.

In fact, the ABA is “re-opening its evaluation of Kavanaugh” after he melted down in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, told multiple easily-debunked lies, berated the senators questioning him, and made damning partisan statements about evil Democrats and the Clintons.

Imagine the idea of a Supreme Court justice being disbarred while sitting on the highest court in the land. If that’s Trump’s idea of “only hiring the best,” perhaps he needs to step aside and let someone more qualified do the nominating.

There are no answers yet as the what the “new information of a material nature regarding temperament” might be. It’s possible that the new information is Kavanaugh’s testimony itself, which was combative, laden with conspiracy theories, and at any other time in history, would have been disqualifying. Kavanaugh has since penned an op-ed with a quasi-apology for his rant and a defense about all the pressure he’s under and how angry he is at having been accused.

There is a problem, however, with the fact that he even needed to apologize for his behavior. He’s being considered for the Supreme Court of the United States. If he’s under pressure while on the court and behaves the way he did during his confirmation hearings, there are no do-overs. Americans will be forced to live with his decisions until the day he retires, and he’s only 53 years old.
