By now we all assume that Trump isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, but on Friday, one of our so-called “president’s” favorite Senators just made it abundantly clear.

In a new interview published by The Washington PostSenator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), let it slip that early in Trump’s presidency he once mistook archived video of missile launches in North Korea as something that was happening in real time.

Graham hasn’t always been a Trump fan, in fact, he once said, “I think he’s a kook!” with regard to the president, but now it seems he’s one of his strongest supporters.

Since the Kavanaugh hearings began, it’s been disgustingly obvious where Graham’s allegiance lies, which is why this report from The Post is a little surprising!

During the interview, Senator Graham recalled a meeting he had with Trump back in 2016, just a short time after he was elected, and he said that while at the lunch meeting with Former Chief of Staff, Reince Priebus, and National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster where Trump evidently wanted to discuss national security, Graham told Trump that his key worries for our nation were Iran and North Korea. It was at that time, while tuned in to a Fox News show on a nearby television, they just so happened to be airing old footage of missile launches in N. Korea.

Graham noted that Trump became noticeably worried about the footage and obviously thought the launches were happening in real time. While laughing, Graham said to Trump:

‘That’s old footage! Old footage!’

Graham also told The Washington Post that the late Senator John McCain wasn’t happy when he saw that Graham was getting cozy with Trump. According to Graham, McCain asked him why he plays golf with Trump and Graham admitted telling McCain:

‘I told him I hope you understand. … The best place to talk to him is in his world.’

In other words, because Trump is never “at work” the only place to catch him is on the golf course. That’s a pretty telling remark if you ask me and it will be really interesting to see how the Tweeter-in-Chief responds to it!
