Trump Announces Monday Plans & Gets Swiftly Brutal Retaliation

Nearly a week after Hurricane Michael made landfall on October 10, 2018, Donald Trump decided to take time out of his tweeting schedule to hop on down there. The hurricane was the fourth strongest storm in history to hit the country. Hopefully POTUS will not be throwing paper towels into the audience as he did in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria devastated the island last year. Of course, Trump took no responsibility for his current misstep.

He does not believe in climate change. That is clear. It was embarrassing how little interest he has expressed in a hurricane that killed 18 people with dozens more missing. He even refused to cancel one of his rallies as the storm hit shore. The commander-in-chief sent out this early morning tweet:

‘Will be leaving for Florida and Georgia with the First Lady to tour the hurricane damage and visit with FEMA, First Responders and Law Enforcement. Maximum effort is taking place, everyone is working very hard. Worst hit in 50 years!’

Hurricane Michael was the first ever category four to “make landfall in the Florida Panhandle. It caused the highest storm surge that covered areas from “Mexico Beach to Apalachee Bay.” Michael’s winds were so strong that at least one million people have no electricity. The hurricane’s “heavy rain triggered flash flooding from the Carolinas to New Jersey,” according to The Weather Channel.

Before boarding the Marine One helicopter, Trump answered reporters’ questions. When they asked about First Lady Melania’s television interview, he said that she did pretty good. Then, he could not resist patting himself on the back, saying that he did not do too badly himself.

Twitter world went crazy after Trump’s tweet. Check out some of our favorites below:
