Trump Just Joked About Violence Against Reporters To Rally His Crowd (VIDEO)

It has come to the day when the president of the United States has conspired with Russia to win an election, has called a woman “horseface,” and whose brutal immigration policies involve inflicting trauma on children by separating them from their parents. The worst part is that all of it is seemingly acceptable.

Now, on Monday, Mr. Trump had the audacity to joke at a campaign rally in Montana about body slamming reporters. In 2017, Representative Greg Gianforte(R) assaulted a reporter which helped him win his election. Trump said:

‘Never wrestle him. Never. Any guy that can do a body slam, he’s my kind of…he’s my guy.’

He went on to say:

‘We endorsed Greg really early, but I heard that he had body slammed a reporter. And he was way up…and I said, “Oh, this is terrible, he’s going to lose the election.” But then I said, “Well wait a minute, I know Montana pretty well, I think it might help him,” and it did…He’s a great guy and a tough cookie.’

Gianforte’s assault on the reporter happened the night before the election after a significant number of votes had already been cast during early voting or via absentee ballots. For the assault, Gianforte pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of assault and was sentenced to 180-day deferred sentence. In addition, he was sentenced to 40 hours of community service, 20 hours of anger management and a $300 fine along with a $85 court fee.

He still won Montana’s seat by six points.

According to CNN:

‘The comment comes at the same time as the administration responds to the disappearance and apparent murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. Khashoggi was last seen entering the Saudi consulate on October 2 and Turkish media reports that an audio recording suggests Khashoggi was tortured and killed soon after entering the building before being dismembered.’

Trump’s vile comments continue to a create a dangerous climate for journalists and it doesn’t appear that he will stop his recklessness with words anytime soon.
