Donald Trump makes up his own reality. Yet, when it comes to the environment, his fabricated world does not line up with facts. Maybe, one of these days,1 he will say that when it comes to climate change, America has the greatest impact in the world — by far. He has not gone that far yet, but his latest tweet made a ridiculous claim.
He said:
‘America: the Cleanest Air in the World – BY FAR!’
What the president’s map failed to include were all of the cities where the concentration of air pollution is high. Notice all those little yellow circles on the World Health Organization’s 2018 map below:

Trump has always relished talking about his uncle who was “a great professor at MIT,” according to POLITICO. The man sitting in the Oval Office does not exhibit any evidence that he inherited his uncle’s intellectual prowess.
Yet, the commander-in-chief claimed that he has “a natural instinct for science.” Does that mean he absorbs science through osmosis, through his skin? Or does he mean he just breathes in scientific facts? Maybe he can “sniff out” science, like a bloodhound. Or, perhaps, science comes to him in his dreams.
Regardless, it really was all about dollars to the commander-in-chief. He said:
‘What I’m not willing to do is sacrifice the economic well-being of our country for something that nobody really knows.’
