Donald Trump has told more than 4,000 lies since taking residence in the White House, but perhaps his biggest lie has been the one about what a “stable genius” he is. In recent days, he’s shown that he is unable to even remember the names of his most key cabinet members.
In case anyone is confused, you should be. Michael Bolton is a singer who recorded hit songs in the 1990s. John Bolton is Trump’s national security advisor. Michael Bolton is famous for his mullet, while John Bolton is famous for his mustache. One would think even the president could keep the two straight.
Pete Doocey, by the way, is the father of Steve Doocey. Both are Fox News reporters who like Trump, but they are not, in fact, the same person.
This wouldn’t be the first time Trump’s speech and behavior have raised questions about his mental fitness for office. Slurred, rambling speeches during rallies have caused many to speculate about whether or not the current president is suffering from dementia or some other deteriorative brain disease.
During an interview with another reporter from The New York Times, Trump tried to discuss the benefits of his tax bill.
‘The tax cut will be, the tax bill, prediction, will be far bigger than anyone imagines. Expensing will be perhaps the greatest of all provisions. Where you can do something, you can buy something … Piece of equipment … You can do lots of different things, and you can write it off and expense it in one year. That will be one of the great stimuli in history. You watch. That’ll be one of the big … People don’t even talk about expensing, what’s the word “expensing.” [Inaudible.] One-year expensing. Watch the money coming back into the country, it’ll be more money than people anticipate.’
Thinking of that statement coming from a man who claims to be a great businessman and a “stable genius” is laughable except that same person is now the president of the United States.
