Even in the midst of terrorist attacks being committed across the country with targets like President Obama, President Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden, famous celebrities who support Democrats and are anti-Trump, as well as CNN, Trump cannot stick to the message he read off a piece of paper on Monday condemning the attacks and calling for unity.
The current president of the United States is now using victim-blaming during a terrorist attack. That’s where we are now in this country.
None of this should come as a surprise, not the attacks nor the utter inability of Trump to stop stoking the anger and fear that led to them. We should have expected this when a shooter entered the offices of a newspaper he felt had wronged him yelling about “fake news.” We should have expected this when Trump praised a Republican candidate for body slamming a journalist trying to do his job. We should have expected this when Trump called the media “the enemy of the people,” began pushing the idea that Democrats were “an angry, unhinged mob,” and that immigrants fleeing their home countries are “illegals” and “criminals,” all part of MS-13 coming to rape and kill American children, who need the full power of the U.S. military used against them, babies, toddlers, children, and all.
Even after two days of bombs, with more being discovered as Trump tweeted, he cannot seem to stop himself from continuing to demonize the free press for reporting negative news about him.
Twitter was appalled by Trump’s Thursday morning tweets. Read some of their comments below:
