Donald Trump has not exactly had a normal, presidential reaction to the lives of American citizens, including two former presidents, a national news outlet, two former intelligence officers, one celebrity, and numerous other former government officials at risk. On Friday, he had even less of a normal reaction to the announcement that investigators have arrested a suspect in the ongoing investigation into bombs and white powder being sent to those American citizens.
Instead of holding a press conference on this issue, Trump is choosing to address his remarks to the Young Black Leadership Summit. That address will come just a few hours after Trump once again attacked that same news outlet, which is suspected to be one of the reasons the domestic terrorist targeted that outlet in the first place.
Trump will undoubtedly take credit for the arrest, but he’ll never own up to his part in stirring up hatred for his fellow Americans due to their political disagreements with him. Every single person on the list of targets for the terrorist has been attacked by the president on Twitter at some time, and not just with insults. There have been wild accusations of criminal behavior and evil intentions on the part of the president, yet he refuses to accept that it is his rhetoric that may have so inflamed the anger of the terrorists who sent these frightening packages.
