Saturday morning saw the gruesome murder of eight Jewish people in a Pittsburgh synagogue, and the injury of 12 others, including three police officers. The white man responsible for the massacre was taken in by police peacefully after surrendering, and is now alive and safe in custody as eight bodies lie cold in the Tree of Life Synagogue.
Now, the president has made the huge mistake of opening his mouth on the issue on camera when questioned by reporters as he was boarding Air Force One this morning, on his way to the Future Farmers of America conference this afternoon. Trump stated to reporters that he would be making a statement once there.
Trump is then asked if we possibly need to revisit gun laws, to which he ignorantly responds:
“This has little to do with it if you take a look, if they had protection inside, the results would have been far better. This is a dispute that will always exist, I suspect, but if they had some kind of a protection inside the temple, maybe it could have been a very much different situation.”
The shooting, a clear hate crime based on statements made by the shooter, has left countless lives ruined, and some lives even gone in an instant. This incident only raises the chill factor across America, as people wonder if their local church, grocery store, movie theater, mall, or school, is next on some sociopath’s kill list.
The president’s garish claims of Democratic mobs and a crooked media only fuels that fire, bringing out the hatefuls to carry out their sick fantasies, knowing the president will probably just blame someone else for their attacks.
The shooting comes just days after two black people were murdered by a white man at a Kroger’s grocery store in Kentucky. That white man, just like this one, made racist statements at the scene of his crime. Statements that witnesses will never be able to unhear.
