In the past month, Trump saw a rise in his approval rating that left most of us questioning why. However, Trump isn’t going to be too happy when he sees the latest polls that measure his job approval rating.
In the most recent Gallup poll. Trump saw a drop in his approval rating at a time that is crucial for Republicans as the midterm elections close in. According to Bloomberg, his approval rating dropped 4 points.
‘Forty percent of Americans approve of Trump’s performance as commander in chief, according to Gallup polling during the week ending Oct. 28. That was down from 44 percent the prior week, an unusually steep decline for the poll, which is based on a survey of 1,500 U.S. adults conducted Monday through Sunday each week.’
It was a particularly hard week for Americans, and the drop in his approval rating shows Americans aren’t happy with how Trump responded to the horrific events of last week.
To begin with, the week saw Democrats being threatened by the MAGA bomber, who sent out pipe bombs through the postal service to the offices of President Barack Obama, Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, and several other high-profile leaders in the party. Many of those leaders have been harsh critics of Trump’s agenda and administration.
Trump responded to the news by saying it was unacceptable, and the government would conduct a full investigation. However, he went on to blame the media and spew the same rhetoric that prompted the MAGA bomber to send the bombs. He complained that the news coverage was focused on the “‘Bomb’ stuff” rather than election coverage.
‘Republicans are doing so well in early voting, and at the polls, and now this “Bomb” stuff happens and the momentum greatly slows – news not talking politics. Very unfortunate what is going on. Republicans, go out and vote!’
After the week seemingly calmed down after the apprehension of the MAGA bomber, a heinous hate crime was committed in Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh when a man entered the Tree of Life synagogue and opened fire on Jewish men and women while shouting anti-Semitic slurs. The gunman killed eleven people and injured 6 others.
Trump is beloved by white nationalists.
Furthermore, Trump didn’t really speak on the growing boldness of white nationalists. However, he did remark that the shooting could have been prevented if the synagogue would have had armed guards.
Additionally, after many in the news media blamed Trump’s rhetoric for inspiring the attack, the White House called the accusations “outrageous.”
‘The president is not responsible for these acts.
‘I think it’s irresponsible to blame the president and members of his administration for those heinous acts.’
She also remarked Trump loved Jewish Americans.
So, what does this drop in Trump’s approval ratings show? It shows more individuals are seeing just how dangerous having a president like Trump is. Furthermore, it shows an acknowledgment that the current atmosphere of politics has become too heated and many are growing tired of it.
The most rabid of Trump’s supporters, however, will not drop support for Trump ever. Perhaps. however, the moderate conservatives who put him in office are coming to their senses.
