Heavy hitters like President Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and Willie Nelson have all come out to help Democratic candidates rally voters to the polls. On Saturday, Jimmy Buffett pitched in to help, too.

Changing the lyrics to some of his most popular songs, Buffett sang messages to Trump and other GOP candidates at a rally for Democratic candidates Andrew Gillum and Bill Nelson. According to The New York Times, the popular singer performed “Come Monday” with a change of lyrics.
‘To take a dig at Trump he changed the wording of “Come Monday” to “Come Tuesday, things will change. Come Tuesday, we’re making a change. It’s been two insane years and it’s time to really switch gears…”‘

For the even more well-known tune Margaritaville, Buffett sang a message straight to senatorial candidate Rick Scott.
‘He criticized Scott for the state’s environmental problems: “Some people say there’s a red tide to blame, but I know, that it’s all Rick Scott’s fault.”‘

Buffett, a longtime environmentalist, is also an activist working for change. According to the website Inside Philanthropy, Buffett has worked to create a charity organization to help the environment and vulnerable populations in need.
‘Jimmy Buffett’s charitable vehicle, Singing for Change, primarily funds projects that serve children and families, the environment, and disenfranchised groups. A lot of this work takes place in the Southern United States. As well, Singing for Change is quite transparent, with a helpful website, complete with grants information and clear guidelines. A key element in getting selected for a grant is community engagement. Singing for Change has disbursed some $11 million in grants through the years.’
