This video is currently going viral, and it’s easy to see why. The capture making its way around the internet Monday morning is pretty hard to watch because the outcome of the video led to the teacher’s arrest, and a student recuperating from getting his ass handed to him in what was a pretty amazing life lesson. Don’t use racial slurs unless you want to get punched.

The 64-year old music teacher, Marston Riley, reached his boiling point after a disrespectful student refused to leave class, and eventually hurled a racial slur at his teacher. According to CNN:

“Students told KTLA the fight began after Riley asked the student to leave the class because he wasn’t wearing the proper uniform. The boy refused, students said, and video taken by another student shows the boy shouting profanity and a racial slur at Riley, who is black.”

The racist student was treated at a nearby hospital after getting his world rocked by an elderly man he assumed he could abuse with no repercussion. The report continues:

“The boy, who has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for moderate injuries and later released, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Riley was arrested on charges of child abuse, the release said. He posted bond and was released Saturday. Riley has an arraignment scheduled for November 30.”

The video begins with the teacher and student standing together at the front of class, and quickly escalates.

The Los Angeles Unified School District responded with the typical statement:

“We are extremely disturbed by the reports of the events that occurred at Maywood Academy High School. We take this matter very seriously and do not condone violence or intolerance of any kind. Los Angeles Unified is cooperating with law enforcement in investigating this incident. Crisis counselors and additional School Police patrols will be at the school on Monday to support our students and staff.”

The lesson here is, if you don’t want your squeaky son getting his ass beat in front of an entire classroom, teach him respect for his elders, and that using racial slurs isn’t funny, or cool. If you don’t, you can expect your little angel to get taught that lesson the hard way.

Good job, parent(s).
