Earlier today, during a heated post-midterms press conference, Donald Trump tore into CNN’s Chief White House Correspondent, calling him a “rude and terrible person” after Acosta asked him about his rhetoric regarding the migrant caravan and the Russia investigation.
Watch:
What you see above is not what Trump’s White House says went down at all. According to a statement made by Sarah Sanders:

They can deflect all they want to, but accusing a respected journalist of “putting his hands” on a young WH intern is disgusting and below the belt, even for Trump, and tonight Acosta called out Sanders for her “lie.”
This is a lie. https://t.co/FastFfWych

The US Secret Service just asked for my credential to enter the WH. As I told the officer, I don’t blame him. I know he’s just doing his job. (Sorry this video is not rightside up) pic.twitter.com/juQeuj3B9R

Trump has a lot of explaining to do. This is a blatant attack on our democracy and it’s got to stop!
Tonight the White House Correspondents Association said:
‘The WHCA “strongly objects to the Trump Administration’s decision to use US Secret Service security credentials as a tool to punish a reporter with whom it has a difficult relationship. Revoking access to the White House complex is a reaction out of line to the purported offense and is unacceptable… We urge the White House to immediately reverse this weak and misguided action.’
That pretty much says it all.
