Considering the constitutional crisis the United States faces thanks to the presidency of Donald Trump, who fired the man in charge of the investigation into his alleged crimes on Wednesday, protecting the Supreme Court and the heroes who will put a check on Trump’s power is paramount.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg, age 85, was hospitalized after a fall in her office when she broke three of her ribs. Her office has released a statement, according to CNBC:

‘She went home, but after experiencing discomfort overnight, went to George Washington University Hospital early this morning. Tests showed that she fractured three ribs on her left side and she was admitted for observation and treatment.’

The fall follows a stay in the hospital in 2012 for the same type of injury, as well as a bout with cancer and a cardiac stint in 2014. Yet Ginsburg has persisted and said she intends to stay in her position for as long as possible.

The fierce legal warrior and feminist icon has become a symbol of justice for women in the era of Trump administration, where respect for women is in short supply.

Ginsburg’s advanced age makes the injury alarming, but details are still being released at this point. Well wishes continue to pour in from Twitter and more information should be made available as Ginsburg recovers from her injury.
