Republicans are well known for the dirty tricks and schemes they use to win elections. Their favorite dirty trick is to try to suppress as many votes and voters as possible. In fact, they don’t even want election officials to count votes cast during early voting periods. That’s too bad for them because today they got the bad news that Democrat Kyrsten Sinema has pulled out to a huge lead over Republican Martha McSally for one of the two senate seats in Arizona, once election officials started counting early, provisional, and absentee ballots.
The officials estimated that they still have about 290,000 ballots left to count, and a huge portion of those are from the county that Phoenix is in. Traditionally voters in large cities are big supporters of the Democrats so that’s extremely good news for Sinema. With Sinema’s huge lead of 30,000 votes right now, plus the number of ballots left to count, McSally would have to win almost 58 percent of the remaining ones and that’s not very likely to happen.
If Republicans really want to start winning more elections they should try doing what’s best for the people of this country. But they refuse to do that because they’re beholden to large corporate backers who definitely don’t care about what’s best for Americans. Republicans only care about one thing and that’s taking care of the already wealthy. They don’t care that Americans are suffering in this country because of failed neoliberal policies.
Democrats, on the other hand, are really looking out for the common, everyday citizen. They push for the wealthy to start paying their fair share of taxes, and for people to start earning a fair wage. Hopefully, Sinema’s lead holds up and we gain another Democratic senator in Congress.
