Donald Trump makes everything about himself, that is, unless something goes wrong. Then, it is never the president’s fault. If the Stock Market goes up, POTUS did it all by himself. If the Stock Market goes down, the Democrats are at fault. Yet, Trump just took the blame game down to a whole new level.
When Wall Street closed sharply lower, the president of these United States blamed the “prospect of Presidential Harassment.” He tweeted:
‘The prospect of Presidential Harassment by the Dems is causing the Stock Market big headaches!’
What strange logic the commander-in-chief used. Trump believed that just the thought of the Democrats being ugly to him would cause the market to drop dramatically. Certainly, the president holds himself in high esteem.
The real reason that the Stock Market fell so badly was, according to Nasdaq:
‘…the U.S. crude price plunged below a key psychological barrier escalating concerns of a global growth slowdown. Moreover, significant decline of auto sales in China and a jump in the U.S. producer’s price index also dented investor confidence. All three major stock indexes ended in the red despite showing strong performance throughout the week.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) closed at 25,989.30, losing 201.92 points. That was a loss of 0.8 percent. The S&P 500 Index (INX) ended the day at 2,781.01, which was nearly the same, a 0.9 percent drop, Nasdaq reported.
Other factors that caused the Stock Market to drop were: concerns over a Chinese economic growth slowdown, concerns over the global economic growth in general, and inflation fears.
