Donald Trump has made a lot of big mistakes as president, and his most recent one was highly criticized by both the left and the right. During his trip to France for the ceremonies honoring the end of WWI, called Armistice Day, Trump failed to show up at the cemetery to honor fallen soldiers along with the rest of the world leaders there.
If this were true, why did Trump wait three days to offer an excuse? He also showed up late the following morning for the walk with the rest of the world leaders down to the Champs Elysses. It was not raining at that time and only Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin didn’t walk.
"It was an embarrassment, and he let down our veterans, he let down our country," says former Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel about Trump skipping a ceremony at an American burial ground in France because of rain https://t.co/ysb5xIdBtc pic.twitter.com/Wljzhg0RqI

As for his speech in the American cemetery (which Trump can’t even spell) the following day, it wasn’t raining during his speech. The wind was blowing, there had been some light rain and there were visible raindrops on one shoulder of his jacket, but it never rained during his speech. For video of that speech and proof that the weather was dry at the time of his speech, see below:
Despite Trump’s promises during the campaigns that he would “only hire the best people,” he can’t even manage to hire aides who make a plan in case of rain. President Obama certainly always did.
I helped plan all of President Obama’s trips for 8 years. There is always a rain option. Always. https://t.co/exZNlONQOp

Trump’s excuse for missing the ceremony in Paris also doesn’t mention that, since he had not yet returned to the U.S., he then missed the ceremony on Veterans Day at Arlington Cemetary.
Twitter wasn’t buying Trump’s excuse. Read some of their comments below:
