It is well-known that Mr. Trump has had affairs with many women and most likely, several that haven’t come to the public’s attention yet. Most recently, Trump’s scandalous affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels was brought into the open along with the fact that he likely directed his personal attorney Michael Cohen to pay her $130,000 in hush money to stay quiet about it.
Now, it has been reported that former National Enquirer editor Barry Levine is penning a book about Donald Trump’s love life, and may even lift the lid on the controversial relationship between American Media owner David Pecker and the president.
According to Page Six:
‘A source says that the book will look into “Trump and his women,” although other insiders tell us that it could be more wide-ranging, even looking at the formerly cozy relationship between the Enquirer’s owner, David Pecker, and Trump. That said, it’s unclear exactly what Levine’s contract with the Enquirer would allow him to reveal about Pecker.’
Pecker has been at the center of the investigation into hush money payouts to Stormy Daniels and Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal. Both women claim to have had affairs with Mr. Trump while he was married to First Lady Melania Trump. According to a report from The Wall Street Journal back in June:
‘Tips about Mr. Trump poured into the tabloid after his television show ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ took off in 2002, but the Enquirer turned away stories that could paint him in a bad light.’
Levine seems to have a sort of patent on political exposes, and was part of a team that uncovered vice presidential candidate John Edward’s love child in 2010. Levine told New York Magazine:
‘I dream of an office in Washington where aides to senators and congressmen come in on their lunch hour and tell us stories.’
During the interview, he also said:
‘If I were in Russia, I’d be taken out by a hail of bullets, because that’s what happens to investigative journalists there.’
According to The Daily Beast:
‘The Enquirer has been accused of using its financial muscle to buy up the stories of women who claimed to have had affairs with Trump and then burying them.
‘Karen McDougal, who claims to have had an affair with Trump while he was married to his wife Melania, alleges she was the subject of a so-called ‘catch and kill’ operation to silence her, whereby the magazine bought the exclusive rights to her story but then did not publish it.’
Pecker was also an old friend of Trump’s who had been a guest at the president’s Mar-a-Lago resort before, and once published a magazine called Trump Style.
In August though, Pecker accepted immunity in Muller’s investigation, which led to speculation that he may be willing to provide details on whether Trump was involved in paying his accusers hush money.
If Mr. Trump did indeed break the law in regards to hush money payments, Pecker’s testimony could provide evidence of that because he was involved in the transactions.
