Sounding like a broken record that just won’t stop repeating itself, Trump went on a Twitter attack on Sunday while lounging at Mar-a-Lago. After two years of his presidency and numerous fact checks debunking his lies, he continues to push issues that have no factual support to back them up.
Republicans have insisted that money donated to the Clinton Foundation goes in the pockets of the founders and donors, but that was debunked. Trump’s claim that the foundation’s donations are plummeting due to the Clinton family’s illegal activities are also false; in fact, the drop in donations is reportedly more related to the GOP’s continued investigations that have, so far, turned up no evidence of illegal activity.
Meanwhile, lawsuits are pending against the Trump Foundation‘s alleged illegal use of donated funds. A judge in New York ruled that the president can be sued and the case will continue against Donald Trump as well as his three eldest children.
Trump has also been told repeatedly that countries in the European Union had already made plans to increase their contributions to NATO. Regardless, NATO is a necessary alliance that benefits the United States since allied countries have consistently stood alongside American soldiers in every war. The U.S. isn’t being cheated, they’re being strengthened by that alliance.
As Trump spends his Thanksgiving weekend lazing in gold-plated rooms, the border has been closed in some of the busiest entry points, effectively denying migrants who have walked for months to flee the violence, oppression, and poverty in their home countries. His insistence that these people are a significant source of crime has also been debunked, but Trump keeps pushing the idea to please his racist fanbase.
