Donald Trump has been not-so-subtly offering , via Tweet, to pardon those men who know about the president’s areas of guilt. He did not mention “pardon,” but he did not need to. All is not lost, though. There is someone close to the White House who opposes Trump with all the vengeance of the law behind him. He is not Russian investigator Special Counselor Robert Mueller. No, but he is married to the Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway.
Trump tweeted that his dirty trickster, Roger Stone, had “guts!”
‘“I will never testify against Trump.” This statement was recently made by Roger Stone, essentially stating that he will not be forced by a rogue and out of control prosecutor to make up lies and stories about “President Trump.” Nice to know that some people still have “guts!”’
Then, Kellyanne’s husband, respected conservative attorney George Conway responded with a simple but powerful tweet:
‘File under “18 U.S.C. §§ 1503, 1512”’
Translated from “legalese” into English, it means Trump was tampering with a witness, victim, or informant.
Former acting Solicitor General of the United States during the Obama administration, Neal Katyal agreed with George Conway in this tweet:
‘George is right. This is genuinely looking like witness tampering. DOJ (at least with a nonfake (sic) AG) prosecutes cases like these all the time. The fact it’s done out in the open is no defense. Trump is genuinely melting down, and no good lawyer can represent him under these circ (circumstances).’
Twitter world went bananas after these tweets. Check out some of our favorite responses below:
