People wonder what a rattled or corned Donald Trump would do. They are about to find out, because his longtime fixer and personal attorney Michael Cohen has given the Robert Mueller investigation 70 hours of details about the Trump operation. That included any potential conspiracy between the president and Russia in the 2016 presidential election. It hit a nerve, because POTUS urgently started trying to deflect in his morning tweets.
Trump said Cohen did “TERRIBLE, unrelated to Trump, things:”
‘“Michael Cohen asks judge for no Prison Time.” You mean he can do all of the TERRIBLE, unrelated to Trump, things having to do with fraud, big loans, Taxis, etc., and not serve a long prison term? He makes up stories to get a GREAT & ALREADY reduced deal for himself, and get…..
‘….his wife and father-in-law (who has the money?) off Scott Free. He lied for this outcome and should, in my opinion, serve a full and complete sentence.’
Trump called upon the judge to ignore Cohen’s request for zero “Prison Time.” Instead, the president said that the fixer did all sorts of things that should make him end up in jail for a “long prison term.” Interesting that Trump may have done exactly what he accused Cohen of doing: “makes up stories.”
Now, why would the man sitting in the Oval Office sound so desperate? Is it due to Cohen giving the special counsel’s investigation into Russia and Trump evidence of continued contacts? After all, the president continued to pursue a huge Moscow Trump Tower project even as he entered the last few months of the 2016 campaign? Is it due to his family’s involvement in the project?
The Moscow project halted the moment news of it surfaced in the summer of 2016. A new building complex has begun where Trump Tower was slated to be built. The new project’s name was intriguing: The Manhattan Project.
