Donald Trump is a climate change denier. He simply doesn’t think that man-made climate change is any sort of problem. Heck, he even pulled the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Agreement just to show everyone how dumb he really is. Today he took to Twitter to brag about how French President Emmanuel Macron and protestors in their country finally agree with him that the Paris Climate Agreement is fatally flawed. However, nothing could be further from the truth.
….in the world. I want clean air and clean water and have been making great strides in improving America’s environment. But American taxpayers – and American workers – shouldn’t pay to clean up others countries’ pollution.

It’s true that President Macron did make some changes in their country to appease protestors, but he most certainly hasn’t changed his mind about the Paris Agreement. What had people protesting was the new tax on gas that was set to go into effect. The protestors saw the increase in gas prices as unfairly hitting the lower and middle classes, and they wanted to do something about it. After three weeks of protests Macron finally agreed to put off the tax increase for six months.
But just because people were protesting gas price increases certainly doesn’t mean they agree with Trump either. They were just mad because it was going to make life a little bit harder for them. The French people already pay over six dollars a gallon for gas so it’s easy to see why they’d balk at a price increase.
Another lie in Trump’s tweet was that the U.S. was going to have to pay to clean up other countries. No, we weren’t. We were going to pay to clean up ours and they were going to pay to clean up theirs. The U.S. is quickly climbing the charts as one of the world’s biggest polluters while some of the worst countries are taking steps to become more climate-friendly.
