People like the former CIA director, John Brennan, make the world seem to be a safer place. He reminds us of the great American justice system and patriotism. Even his manner and his solid grounded reminder that Donald Trump is only temporary make people feel better. He goes on.
Brennan tweeted that he was relieved when he recognized that Trump knew “how much trouble” he was in:
‘….which it was not (but even if it was, it is only a CIVIL CASE, like Obama’s – but it was done correctly by a lawyer and there would not even be a fine. Lawyer’s liability if he made a mistake, not me). Cohen just trying to get his sentence reduced. WITCH HUNT!’
‘Whenever you send out such inane tweets, I take great solace in knowing that you realize how much trouble you are in & how impossible it will be for you to escape American justice. Mostly, I am relieved that you will never have the opportunity to run for public office again.’
Brennan looked beneath Trump’s spelling mistakes to the president’s message. The former CIA director said he was “relieved” that Trump would be out of office.
Trump appears desperate and cornered after Mueller’s office “filed a sentencing memo” regarding the president’s longtime personal attorney and fixer, Michael Cohen. The special counsel said Cohen lied initially about Trump’s link to the Russians.
Then, the former fixer said that he pled guilty to “campaign finance violations related to” the hush money he arranged for Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal to be paid — at Trump’s direction. Both claimed to have had affairs with Trump when Melania Trump had just given birth to their son.
