Winning the presidency is the worst thing that ever happened to Donald Trump. The level of scrutiny that a U.S. president is under has turned up many of Trump’s crimes and moral failings, and although Trump was quick to point out any perceived flaw in President Obama and Hillary Clinton, he’s whined consistently since winning the presidency as he faces the same sort of criticism.

On the latest episode of Saturday Night Live, the cold open featured a skit that was a play on It’s A Wonderful Life in which Trump (played by Alec Baldwin) is the George Bailey character. Instead of wishing he had never been born, Trump wishes he had never won the presidency. Just as Bailey was shown what the world would be like if he hadn’t been born, Trump is shown what the world would be like if he had never made it to the White House. Unsurprisingly in Trump’s case, the world is much better off without him.

Saturday Night Live began during the Nixon era and has taken on politics and political figures for 43 years. They have not only poked fun at Republican politicians but have taken on Bill Clinton’s womanizing and the soft treatment Barack Obama received during his first run for the presidency. It’s very true that most of Hollywood leans liberal, but that’s not why they criticize Trump. They’re comedians who look for the absurd in every situation, and there’s plenty of absurdity in Trump’s administration.

To compare a Saturday Night Live skit to the alleged collusion by the 2016 Trump presidential campaign with a hostile foreign government to upend democracy in the U.S. with a comedy skit show should surely be the next Trump moment that SNL laughs about and shares that laughter with the rest of the world.

Twitter had a good time making fun of Trump’s sensitivity. Read some of their comments below:
