Barack Comforts Americans Scared Over Obamacare Ruling Like A Real Leader

Donald Trump wants to blast apart anything that his predecessor accomplished. While he was still president, Barack Obama made a couple of jokes at 45’s expense at the White House Correspondents Dinner,  2011. Add that to Trump’s obvious racism, and Obama earned Trump’s everlasting hatred. He was not alone.

Trump went after Obama’s most significant piece of legislation with a vengeance. Then, a federal judge  in Texas decided to strike down Obamacare, aka the Affordable Care Act/ACA. As a result, Obama wrote on his Facebook page that “Republicans will never stop trying to undo (it):”

‘If they can’t get it done in Congress, they’ll keep trying in the courts, even when it puts people’s pre-existing conditions coverage at risk. The only way to convince them to stop trying to repeal this law, and start working to make health care better, is to keep voting, in big numbers, in every election, for people who’ll protect and improve our care.’

Obama tried to comfort people. He also reminded them when open enrollment ended (December 15, 2018). Yet, people still had a couple of other options:

‘As this decision makes its way through the courts, which will take months, if not years, the law remains in place and will likely stay that way. Open enrollment is proceeding as planned today. And a good way to show that you’re tired of people trying to take away your health care is to go get covered!’

President Obama went on to comfort all of his people:

‘Judge Reed O’Connor’s ruling did threaten the Affordable Care Act, but people will not feel its result immediately, if ever. He ruled part of the law was unconstitutional, therefore, all of it was deemed unconstitutional.’

‘A lot of good people are fighting to ensure that nothing about your care will change. The ACA protects your pre-existing conditions, no matter how you get your insurance. Young people can stay on their parents’ plans until they’re 26. Preventive care like checkups, mammograms, and contraceptive care are still covered. Mental health care is still covered. Women can’t be charged more just for being a woman. All of that is guaranteed by the ACA as long as it’s the law.’

‘But all of this should also be a reminder that Republicans will never stop trying to undo all that. If they can’t get it done in Congress, they’ll keep trying in the courts, even when it puts people’s pre-existing conditions coverage at risk. The only way to convince them to stop trying to repeal this law, and start working to make health care better, is to keep voting, in big numbers, in every election, for people who’ll protect and improve our care.’

Obamacare will remain in effect as long as it is still being litigated. Yet, Trump danced upon the weakening of 44’s major accomplishment. In a tweet, the man sitting in the Oval Office called ObamaCare “unconstitutional” and “a disaster.”

This so-called “disaster” provided health care coverage for both Democrats and Republicans, even those suffering from pre-existing conditions. Some insurance companies used pregnancy and asthma to eliminate people.

Unfortunately for Trump and the Republicans, people like ObamaCare. They like everyone being able to get insurance. Democrats have vowed to protect the Affordable Care Act.
