Donald Trump’s television attorney, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, tried to be cute and turn former FBI director James Comey’s name into an ugly word. Instead, the president’s attorney just created a bizarre image that burned itself into people’s minds. What a strange thing for Trump’s TV attorney to do.

Giuliani added an image of Snow White’s friend, Bashful, beneath a quote. Why would he combine a Walt Disney character with what he hoped was a clever play on Comey’s name? Some believe that the New York attorney has been on the job too long. Maybe, Giuliani was half asleep and grabbed the Bashful image instead of the one who was Sleepy. He tweeted:

‘”Comey” (v) means to interfere illicitly with an election. For example “The Chicago Democrat machine comied the 1960 election.” This usage derived from Comey’s interference in 2016 election by irresponsible press conferences and then leaking.’

Then, the Snow White image disappeared, only to be replaced by a somewhat clearer play on Comey’s name:

‘“Comey” (v) means to interfere illicitly with an election. For example “The Chicago Democrat machine comied the 1960 election.” This usage derived from Comey’s interference in 2016 election by failing to prosecute and then an unprecedented release of incriminating facts.

Maybe, Giuliani should stick to television. In Twitter world, he might have been trying to indicate that the former FBI director was such a leaker, faker, and falsifier that he deserved for his name to be turned into a verb of that sort.

The old mayor tried to make his case, then he failed. Hopefully, his legal advice to Trump has been better, but legal pundits seem to say that it was not. After all, Giuliani told the world that his client had not stopped business interactions with the Russians in June 2016 but until November 2016.

Most 74-year-olds are very sharp. This one, though, should start thinking about retirement.
