Trump’s hometown newspaper released a scathing cover image, depicting him as The Grinch, with the headline How The Trump Stole Christmas.
Less than one day after his partial government shutdown began, the New York Daily News has taken direct jabs at the president, painting a scary visual of the selfish, greedy, Dr. Seuss character. And the comparison couldn’t be more accurate.
It could be head wasn't screwed on just right. It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight. But we think that the most likely reason of all may have been that his heart was two sizes too small. https://t.co/Vf44qMAj8m

Part of the print on the paper’s cover reads:
‘Shuts down government over wall to put coal in stockings of 800,000 workers.
‘It could be head wasn’t screwed on just right. It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight,” the tabloid said in a tweet sharing an early look at its latest cover on Friday night.’
This comes as the world laughs at his administration because Congress could not come to an agreement on Friday for the outrageous amount of funding, $5 billion, that Trump is asking for to help resurrect his beloved border wall. It was just announced today that the shutdown will surpass the Christmas holiday when the Senate adjourns on the 27th later this month.
The paper continues:
‘But we think that the most likely reason of all may have been that his heart was two sizes too small.’
Taking matters into his own hands, a veteran and Trump supporter started a GoFundMe pledge to raise the money for Trump, amongst all of his weak-minded followers. To date, the campaign has raised just over $15 million.
Sorry to pop the bubble, but it’s looking like that goal won’t be reached.
Twitter has chimed in on the New York Daily News headline as well and here are some of the best replies:
