In yet another stunning example of Trump’s declining mental stability and proof that he is beyond unfit to serve as president of the United States, he has just tweeted that he won the election due to his getting us out of war and because of our strong borders.
While the United States currently faces its third government shutdown of the year, which began at midnight last night, Donald Trump is spending his day tweeting about how wonderful he is, instead of working to find a solution to the problem he has caused.
Last week, he announced to the world that if the government shut down, he would take full responsibility and be proud to do so. He also stated that he would not blame the Democrats.
Just days later, he walked-back on those statements and did, indeed, end up blaming Democrats for his party’s failure.
Today marks the fifth total day of government shutdowns on Trump’s watch, which is a number that will undoubtedly grow.
It was just announced by CNN that the current shutdown is now anticipated to last until after the Christmas 2018 holiday.
In his desperate tweet, which clearly seems to be a call to his base and meant as another distraction, Trump begs for praise when it comes to his administration’s handling of getting the United States “out of endless and costly foreign wars.” Check it out:
I won an election, said to be one of the greatest of all time, based on getting out of endless & costly foreign wars & also based on Strong Borders which will keep our Country safe. We fight for the borders of other countries, but we won’t fight for the borders of our own!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 22, 2018
What is most striking about his outlandish claim above is the fact that he cannot get the funding he needs for his prize-token border wall. This fact alone proves his tweet completely false. Also astounding is that his election was not the “greatest of all time,” which we all know to be a big ‘ol lie. It seems as though Trump is, again, nearing the edge of yet another Twitter meltdown.
