Special Counsel Robert Mueller asked the House Intelligence Committee for the original documents of the black political arts specialist Roger Stone’s testimony. That is a good indicator that the man heading up the investigation into Russia’s internet attack on the 2016 presidential election and conspiracy between the Donald Trump campaign and Moscow is after Stone.
The special counsel had to have the original testimony, not the copy he had, if he wanted to charge Stone in his investigation. These documents would show where Stone lied to Congress. The committee agreed unanimously:
‘BREAKING: The House Intelligence Committee voted unanimously to release documents regarding Roger Stone’s testimony to special counsel Robert Mueller.’
Stone may be willing to go to jail rather than cut a deal with Mueller. The self-proclaimed dirty-trickster has been close to Trump for decades, and they often shared middle-of-the-night phone calls during the 2016 presidential campaign.
‘Had Mueller asked for it, we would have sent it.’
‘I don’t think any reasonable attorney who looks at it would conclude that I committed perjury, which requires intent and materiality.’
‘Personally, having listened to Roger Stone’s testimony, I certainly have my concerns about whether he was truthful. The more we learn the more we — I, at least — become concerned he wasn’t being honest with the committee. If he has evidence that Roger Stone lied to Congress and just in the last couple of weeks he has brought charges to people for lying to Congress what that gives him is real leverage with Roger Stone.’
