Republican Tries To Ditch Reporters, Trips Fire Alarm Like A Derp (VIDEO)

Congressional candidate in North Carolina Mark Harris is in so much trouble, and he keeps making it worse. In an attempt to evade reporters, he set off the fire alarm. Then, it got funnier and funnier.

WSOC-TV television reporter Joe Bruno caught Harris as he exited stage left on the fire exit of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center. The candidate running for the disputed 9th Congressional District was trying to escape reporters’ questions about his election fraud allegations:

‘To avoid the media, Mark Harris ran down a fire exit staircase. A man tried to prevent us from following but we still did. The alarm went off as he ran out. When media caught up he sprinted across the street to the First Baptist Church of Charlotte’s parking lot.

With the fire alarm wailing in the background of the Harris’ video, the Republican made a run for it. It was his unfortunate luck that a whole gaggle of reporters was covering the city counsel. He headed through the building’s parking lot. It was like something out of a television car chase.

Harris reached his car, jumped inside of it, and sped off into the darkness leaving the reporters and their questions far behind. That was when Bruno posted his  video on Twitter.

The candidate tweeted that the Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers were in a face-off. His excuse was that

‘Hey man, Sorry I missed you guys tonight. I had to get to the kickoff of the game. We’ll have plenty to talk about in the days ahead. I had to get to the kickoff of the #NationalChampionship game. We’ll have plenty to talk about in the days ahead.’

The Democratic candidate in the troubled 9th District race, Dan McCready said:

‘Mark Harris can run from the media, but he can’t hide from the truth. The people deserve answers.’
